Founding Attorney

Loune-Djenia Askew is the Founding Attorney at Askew & Associates, P.A., a multi-practice law firm and title company in Lauderdale Lakes, FL. Prior to opening her own firm, she practiced in the areas of academic and business law, with a focus in administrative and regulatory law; commercial procurement and licensure; and state court litigation.

Mrs. Askew earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University, College of Law, where she graduated cum laude and in the top 15% of her class. Upon graduation, Mrs. Askew received the Murray A. Greenberg Prize in Local Government Law for excellence in the study of Local Government Law and an Excellence in Civic Engagement Medallion of Distinction for completing over 250 pro-bono hours. Additionally, she was published by the University of Miami Race and Social Justice Law Review for her article “Confidentiality Agreements: The Florida Sunshine In Litigation Act, The #Metoo Movement, And Signing Away The Right To Speak.”

During law school, Mrs. Askew externed as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable John Fry of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, as a Law Clerk at the Broward County Attorney’s Office, and as a Student Attorney at the FIU Law Small Business Clinic; amongst other positions.

Prior to Law School, Mrs. Askew attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated magna cum laude with an International Business degree and Public Management minor. During her time at FAU, she was a member of the Undergraduate Law Journal and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Mrs. Askew is a member of the Florida Bar and is active in the community. She volunteers with LAGEHO Community Development Network, a Non-Profit organization based in South Florida. She is a member of the Broward County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Dream Center Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Additionally, Mrs. Askew currently serves as the Secretary of the Haitian Lawyers Association.
