On December 12, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it is ending the Family Reunification Parole (FRP) programs for individuals from Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras. Going forward, parole will be granted only on a case-by-case basis.

If you entered the U.S. under an FRP program and your parole is still valid on January 14, 2026, it will end on that date unless you filed a Form I-485 (application to adjust status) by December 15, 2025, and that application is still pending.

If your Form I-485 is pending, your parole will remain valid until DHS makes a decision or your parole expires—whichever comes first. If the application is denied, your parole will end, and you may be required to leave the U.S.
Once parole ends, DHS will also revoke any work authorization tied to that parole. Affected individuals will receive notice directly from DHS.

⚠️ Important Update for Haitian TPS Holders

The Department of Homeland Security has officially announced that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti will end on February 3, 2026.

After reviewing current conditions and consulting with multiple U.S. agencies, the government determined that Haiti no longer meets the requirements needed to keep TPS in place. Because of this, the program is being terminated.

What this means: If you currently have TPS under the Haiti designation and do not have another legal status, you may be required to leave the United States once TPS expires. DHS has also introduced a self-departure option through the CBP One mobile app, which allows individuals to report their departure. This process includes:

✔️ A complimentary plane ticket
✔️ A $1,000 exit bonus
✔️ Possible future opportunities to apply for legal immigration
